Reminders: chase things until they are done
Build a reusable chase (a nudge a week before, a firmer one on the day) and attach it to anything you send. It stops the moment the client acts.
A reminder set is a reusable "chase until it's done" recipe: a ladder of nudges counted from a date (for example 7 days before something is due, then on the day, then 3 days after). Attach one to a questionnaire or contract you send and Compass follows up for you, then stops by itself the moment the client completes it. No more manual "check on it" tasks.
Build a set
Go to Settings → Templates → Reminders and create one. Give it a name, pick which date it counts from (the item's due date, its sent date, or the event date), and add steps. Each step has a timing (before, on, or after that date), an audience, and a message.
Steps for the client, steps for you
- Client stepssend an email written by you (start from a template or write your own), with tokens that fill themselves in: the client's name, what is being chased, its due date, and the link to complete it. Tick "also notify me when this goes out" for a quiet heads-up without writing a second message. Text-message steps can be saved now and start sending once SMS is connected.
- Private steps for youkeep you the human in the loop: "still not done, give them a quick call". They arrive as notifications, only fire while the thing is still outstanding, and work well as the escalation at the end of a chase.
It stops itself
The moment the chased thing is done (the questionnaire is submitted, the contract is signed), every remaining reminder is cancelled. Turn on "when they complete it, notify me" to hear about it the moment it happens.
Where you attach one
On a workflow step that sends a questionnaire or contract (so every job on that workflow gets chased automatically), or when you send one directly from its page. Reminders need a due date to count from, so set one when you send. Invoices keep their own payment reminders in Invoicing.
