Client types

Tell Compass who you work with (solo, couple, group, company) so new enquiries start with the right people.

Client types tell Compass who you usually work with, a solo client, a couple, a group, or a company. You pick them in Settings → Client types, or when you first set up your workspace.

What they change

They set the defaults a new enquiry opens with. If you work with couples, a new enquiry starts with two people ready to fill in. If you work with companies, it offers a company field and a billing contact. Nothing is ever hidden or locked, you can always add or remove people on any enquiry.

Working with more than one

Turn on every kind you take on. When more than one is on, a new enquiry shows a small row of choices at the top so you can pick the right shape for that client in one tap. The first one stays the default.

Couples and second people

Each person on an enquiry is their own contact, with their own email and their own “keep in the loop” switch. Adding a second person (a partner, a planner, a parent) is how you loop them in; the enquiry still reads as one record so you never see two clients where there is one.
