Export your data, or delete your account

How the data-export and permanent-deletion flows work, and what they cover.

Export your data

Click Download my data. Compass returns a single JSON file containing:

  • Your profile (name, email, avatar URL)
  • Every workspace you own
  • Every lead, with notes and activity log
  • Pipeline stages, packages, and recurring expenses
  • Any saved jobs

The file is plain JSON, so you can open it in any text editor. It's the same data we'd hand back if you formally exercised a GDPR data-portability request.

Delete your account

Click Delete account permanently, type your email exactly, and re-enter your current password. Compass verifies both before it does anything destructive.

Once confirmed, deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. We remove:

  • Your auth account (email, password hash, session)
  • Your profile
  • Every workspace you owned
  • All leads, activity, stages, packages, expenses, and jobs in those workspaces
  • Your avatar in storage (best-effort)

If you want to come back later, sign up again with the same email. We'll treat it as a brand-new account.

What about backups?

Database backups follow the same lifecycle as production data, with a short grace window (up to 30 days) so we can recover from accidents. After that, the deleted rows are gone for good.

Need help with a privacy request?

For anything the self-service flows don't cover (rectification, objection, restriction of processing), email hello@getcompass.studio and we'll handle it within 30 days, as required by GDPR and the Australian Privacy Principles.
