Test records and resetting your data

Try things without polluting your numbers, then clear it all in one click.

While you are learning Compass (or showing it to someone), you can mark any enquiry or contact as a test record. Test records work exactly like real ones and stay visible in your lists wearing a vivid Test badge, but they never count toward your dashboard numbers or reports.

Flagging a record as test

Tick the "Test record" box when you create an enquiry, or later in the enquiry's edit form or a contact's edit dialog. Creating a test enquiry marks its brand-new contact as test too. A connected AI assistant can create test records the same way.

Clearing test data

Open Settings, Test data & reset and choose "Delete all test records". Everything flagged as test moves to the Trash (documents included) and is restorable for 30 days. A test record holding a real card payment stays until the payment is refunded in Stripe.

Resetting all your data

The same page has "Reset my data" for a full fresh start: every record (test or not) moves to the Trash, and upcoming bookings are cancelled without emailing anyone. Your templates, workflows, packages, booking pages, branding and settings are never touched, so you do not rebuild your setup.
