Getting started with Compass

Your first session: get a lead in, move it across your board, send a quote, and get paid.

You are set up. Here is the quick version of getting going. The whole flow takes a lead from first hello to paid, and your dashboard fills in with numbers as you go.

1. Get a lead in

Add one by hand from your board, or bring a batch in from a spreadsheet via Settings, Import. If you just want to look around first, the dashboard has an "Add 5 sample leads" button you can clear out later.

2. Move it across your board

Each lead is a card. Drag it left to right as the conversation moves along: new enquiry, discovery call done, consultation done, and so on. The column names are yours to rename in Settings, Enquiry stages; the grey status underneath stays put so your numbers keep working.

3. Send a quote (and a contract)

Open a lead and send a quote with your packages. Add a contract to sign and a questionnaire to gather details. Save the ones you send often as templates so the next one is a click.

4. When they say yes

Accepting a quote, signing the contract, or paying turns the lead into a booking, so it stops cluttering your board and shows up as confirmed work on your dashboard and calendar.

5. Invoice and get paid

Raise an invoice from the booking. Compass tracks what is outstanding in Money and chases overdue invoices for you with gentle reminders.
