Enquiry stages and how they work
The columns of your board, the underlying status, and why both exist.
Your board lays your enquiries out left to right as they move toward booked. Compass uses a two-layer model so you can rename and reorder stages without breaking your metrics.
Stage label vs underlying status
Each stage has a label (what you see) and a status (what powers analytics). Stages map to one of these statuses:
new_enquiry, fresh in, hasn't been worked yetchemistry_call_done, initial contact doneconsultation_done, deeper conversation donewon, booked / paid / committedlost, they went elsewhere or didn't move forwardon_hold, paused, will revisitcold, no response after multiple touches
You can rename "Discovery call" to "First call", "Chemistry chat", or anything that matches how you talk about this step, and the analytics still know what bucket it belongs to.
Adding or reordering stages
Open Settings → Enquiry stages and drag stages into the order you want. Add new ones with + Add stage; rename anything inline.
Booked and Lost
Two stages are special: Booked and Lost. Marking a lead Booked writes their deal value into the dashboard's revenue numbers. Moving them to Lost takes them out of "active leads" but keeps them in your reports.
Auto-flow on activity
Logging a discovery call against a lead bumps their status to chemistry_call_done automatically. Logging a consultation does the same for consultation_done. You can override the status manually at any time.
